Sunday, January 18, 2004 ::: North Miami, Florida :Sahara Sports Dryer Off-Road Triathlon Series #1: Swim Ľ mile, Mountain Bike 5 to 8 miles, Run 3 miles; Start Time: Race Start 7:00 am and Registration 6:00 am; Location: Oleta River State Park - 3400 NW 163 Street; Price: $38 - Off-Road Triathlon Registration, $7 - Late Fee (required if registering in person on race day), $5 - One Day Norba License (required if not an annual license holder), $10 - Series T-shirt (optional); Course Info: 1/4 mile Swim, 5 to 8 mile moutain bike, and 3 mile run.; Directions: Take I-95 or the Palmetto Expressway to the Golden Glades Interchange. From there, follow signs for the beach exit (NW 167th Street). Go east on 167th Street for several miles. Saturday, January 31, 2004 Tampa, Florida: Swamp Stomp 24-Hour Adventure Race: The Swamp Stomp supplies the canoes, paddles and life vests; you provide everything else (personal gear discussed below). No support crews. Two (2) and four (4) person teams (co-ed or single sex) can expect bike riding and trekking/running on single and double track trails and “off-trail” travel; canoeing on beautiful and remote waterways; fixed rope traverse lines; in-line skating or scootering; navigation; and team challenges. Racers may elect to skate, scooter, or run one section of pavement; each teammate may elect their own mode of travel for this section. You will receive maps and instructions (both pre-race and course instructions) at the pre-race meeting.
