Alan's Duathlon and Run Announced Tiffin, OH - Jennifer Boos, wife of Alan Boos, and HFP Racing have announced the creation of Alan's Duathlon and Run in memory of Alan Boos. Alan, one of Ohio's top triathlete and duathlete for the last six years died suddenly in September 2004. Jennifer wanted to find a way to give back to the multisport community that her husband was so involved in. "Our goal is to create a foundation in Alan's memory to raise money for worthy causes," Jennifer said. "The first use of the funds will go to erecting a monument in the park and dedicate it to Alan." The race will be staged at Hedges-Boyer Park in Tiffin, Ohio on Sunday, May 22, 2005. Hedges-Boyer Park is home of the annual Tiffin Cross Country Festival. This festival is the largest cross country festival in the U.S. and Alan was a multiple time winner of the event. "What a fitting tribute to a guy that meant so much to the sport, his community, and to his family. HFP is so proud to be part of this new event and look forward to making it a big success." Shannon Kurek, President HFP Racing. The event will feature a 5k Run - 30k Bike - 5k Run Duathlon and also a stand alone 5k run/walk event.
